DESCRIPTION:Prayers of the Old Testament – Ancient prayers for modern people \nWe will look at prayers from\nJob\, Moses\, Hannah\, David\, Solomon\, Jehoshaphat\, Jonah\, Jeremiah and Daniel.\n(Only one woman? – And who is Jehoshaphat?) \nWe will learn of them and how they talked\, argued and pleaded with God in their situation\, and how he responded – as we catch a glimpse of their lives.\nThey lived millennia ago\, in a different time and culture\, but their cries are common to all people:\nWhere are you God? Do you care? Are you listening? When will you answer? \nTheir cries are honest\, soul-baring\, outpourings of lament\, repentance and confession\, of praise\, and of reminders to God of his word\, promises and character. \nLearn with us how they prayed; so our prayer-life may grow. \nWe start this term on Wednesday\, May 1\, at 1.30 pm in the Hall\,\nfor the Introduction and booklet distribution ($11)\, and continue for a further nine weeks. \nJoin us for open discussion\, thoughts and questions.
