Short history of our church
Pilgrim Lutheran Church was founded on 8th November 1953, under the care of Pastor Kon Hartman. In the following decade, the original church was filled to capacity every Sunday. Sunday school was conducted in crowded locations including outdoors in fine weather. Pilgrim was growing. This led to the laying of the foundation stone of the current church building on Sunday 14 February 1971 by Pastor Carl Dohler. Upon the completion of the church, the building was dedicated on Sunday 18 July 1971. On Sunday 16 September 1976, the new pipe organ was dedicated by Pastor Lloyd John, and the bell was dedicated on Sunday 26 April 1981.
To the glory of God, Pilgrim celebrated the 50th anniversary of the current church building in 2021. God has blessed Pilgrim throughout the years, enabling the church to live out its motto of ‘growing in Christ and bringing others to him for eternal life’, which we want to share with you!
