Where Love Comes to Life
An event every week that begins at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, happening 10 times
Prayers of the Old Testament – Ancient prayers for modern people
We will look at prayers from
Job, Moses, Hannah, David, Solomon, Jehoshaphat, Jonah, Jeremiah and Daniel.
(Only one woman? – And who is Jehoshaphat?)
We will learn of them and how they talked, argued and pleaded with God in their situation, and how he responded – as we catch a glimpse of their lives.
They lived millennia ago, in a different time and culture, but their cries are common to all people:
Where are you God? Do you care? Are you listening? When will you answer?
Their cries are honest, soul-baring, outpourings of lament, repentance and confession, of praise, and of reminders to God of his word, promises and character.
Learn with us how they prayed; so our prayer-life may grow.
We start this term on Wednesday, May 1, at 1.30 pm in the Hall,
for the Introduction and booklet distribution ($11), and continue for a further nine weeks.
Join us for open discussion, thoughts and questions.
